Fall 2021 Registration Instructions for First Year Students

1.  General Instructions

Members of the Classes of 2024 (FT) and 2025 (PT) may register themselves online beginning July 7, 2021.  First year registration should be completed by July 16, 2021. Students who are not officially registered will be unable to access course materials that will be uploaded into the Blackboard virtual platform by professors. Please carefully read and follow  all instructions below.

First year courses are required and prescribed.  Using the instructions and course registration numbers (CRNs) below, please enroll yourself in the appropriate courses pursuant to your admitted division (full-time day or part-time evening).

Please note: first year students are not permitted to “cross enroll” between day and evening courses.  Do not enroll in any course not listed below.  Prior to Orientation, students will be divided into smaller sections of Lawyering Process I and 1L Lab.

Use your UDC email account and read your emails! Once you are registered, the School of Law’s administrative offices, including the Registrar and Office of Financial Aid, will send all communications to your UDC email account.

Please include your Student ID Number (N#) in all communications with School of Law offices.

If, due to extenuating circumstances, you are not able to complete Online Registration, you must contact the Registrar’s Office (bgreen@udc.edu) to obtain permission to be registered manually. If permitted, complete and submit the On-Site & Late Registration Form to Bridgette.ray@udc.edu.

Students should refer to the 2021-2022 Academic Calendar for important dates and to the Fall 2021 Book List for required textbooks and information about Follett All Access. Students can consult the Student Handbook, Vol. 1 for rules governing course enrollment.

2.  Online Registration Instructions

Law students use the University’s records management system, myUDC, at my.udc.edu, to register themselves online and manage their student accounts.

If you have accessed the site previously, your password is the one you selected the first time you logged in. If you experience technical issues while logging in, you will need to contact the UDC IT Help Desk for assistance.
  2. On the left-hand menu, click on Banner Self Service.
  3. Click on the Student tab.
  4. Click on Registration.

3. Holds, Financial Aid & Billing

You must complete all steps of the registration process, including payment of your bill and/or disbursement of your financial aid, by Monday, August 16, 2021, or your course selections may be canceled by the University. If your course selections are canceled and you wish to re-enroll, you must contact the Registrar. You will be required to complete the On-Site & Late Registration Form and pay the late registration fee ($150). All registration for the Fall 2021 semester ends on August 27, 2021.

All students are required to have health insurance coverage and will be charged the annual premium for the University-sponsored health insurance plan unless the coverage is waived by the University’s deadline. Additional information and instructions for waiving University- sponsored coverage can be found on the First Student site for UDC. Please note that students must be enrolled in courses for 48 hours before the system will accept a waiver request. A waiver, if applicable, must be requested at the beginning of each academic year.

All new UDC students who are age 26 or younger are required to submit standard immunization records (this requirement has existed for many years and is NOT related to COVID). If you fall into this age category and do not submit the required records, you may be prevented from registering or your course selections may be canceled by the University. If you are age 26 or younger, please submit the required immunization records to University Health Services via the  Student Health Portal as soon as possible.

Students of all ages should use the university’s Student Health Portal to upload COVID-19 vaccination documentation (a PDF copy of proof of vaccination or an exemption form) by August 2, 2021. Failure to submit COVID-19 documentation will not prevent you from registering for courses, but it will prevent you from being allowed on campus. Any questions about this requirement should be directed to University Health Services.

First time users of the Student Health Portal must register for an account. When registering for the Health Portal, your Username is your Student ID number (N#). Date of birth format is XX/XX/XXXX. If your UDC email account is not yet active, you may use a personal email account. Check your email account for an email from ‘pyramed’ to create your password for the portal.
