Class of 2012

Quinta Jackson Burns ’12 will be one of the first participants of the University of the District of Columbia’s Beginning Farmers program to sell produce at the UDC Van Ness Farmers Market.

Jose Campos ’12 recently published his book, Surviving The Law. In Surviving The Law, Jose shares his personal journey as a Salvadoran immigrant navigating the U.S. legal system and his path to becoming an attorney.

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor recently gave a few words of acknowledgment, saying, “[I] admire your dedication to inspire students to pursue higher education and encourage them to follow their dreams. I wish you all the best and that you have a successful book launch.”

Cathy Carhart Henry ’95 was nominated by President Biden to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on May 23, 2024. She was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on December 3, 2024.

Class of 1976

Rose McKinney-James ’76 was selected to receive the 2024 C3E Lifetime Achievement Award. In efforts to uphold and recognize women in the clean energy sector, Clean Energy Education & Empowerment (C3E) recognizes women worldwide who show leadership and success in their field. McKinney-James advocates for clean energy and has proven her dedication over the years.

Ewuare Osayande ’24 has been appointed as the new Deputy Executive Director for the Citizens Police Oversight Commission of Philadelphia.

Class of 2006

Dipti Pidikiti-Smith ’06 was recently featured in the Virginia Lawyer Magazine. The magazine issue highlights local civil servants and their dedication to pro bono work. Through her work as a Judge on the Fairfax County General District Court, Pidikiti-Smith upholds the values and mission of UDC Law. She states that “access to pro bono representation can bridge the justice gap, further access to justice, and continue our country’s tradition of supporting our neighbors and communities.”

Mary Ann Stiles ’78 was selected as the awardee for the Presidential Award in Law by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). This esteemed award is presented to those who have exhibited innovation, dedication, and leadership in the field of law. For over 40 years, Stiles has dedicated her career to advocating for the well-being of others through her areas of expertise in workers’ compensation defense, employment law, and policy.
