Each year, the School of Law hosts a reunion for all alumni, family and their friends. While alumni from all classes are invited, a special effort is made to build the turnout of those classes celebrating multiples of five years since their graduation. Members of those classes are urged to host reunion eve socials or morning after brunches at their firms, homes or favorite restaurants. The Office of Alumni Relations helps publicize these events.

Reunion costs are kept low to maximize turnout. The Reunions are sponsored by the DC School of Law Foundation, which allows all funds received for the Reunion to support Summer Public Interest Fellowships.

Reunions can be hilarious and heartwarming experiences that can rekindle old friendships and forge strong bonds between former acquaintances.

Or, frankly, if no one you like or connect with attends, reunions can be boring and alienating wastes of time and money.

The good new is that you can make a huge difference. The way to guarantee the quality of your reunion is to take personal responsibility: make a commitment to attend early, invite your friends, and offer to host a pre or post reunion event. The Office of Alumni Relations can provide you with your class list, or just the contact information of a few friends. Contact them and urge them to commit to attend. Once the “bandwagon” gets rolling, it’s fun and easy!
