Dr. Waris Husain is a visiting assistant professor with the University of District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law teaching international law and lawyering process. He has served as an adjunct professor of international law at the Howard University School of Law and served as advisor for the international moot court team for the past twelve years. Dr. Husain also served as Senior Legal Advisor for Asia at the American Bar Association Center for Human Rights. Prior to joining the Center, Dr. Husain was a Policy Analyst at the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom covering the South Asia region. Dr. Husain received his S.J.D. degree from American University Washington College of Law (WCL) in 2017, specializing in constitutional and comparative law. He received his LLM in international human rights from WCL and his JD from Howard University School of Law.
