Rising 3LE Shawn Deadwiler II has been selected to the American Constitution Society (ACS) 2022 Next Generation Leaders (NGL) program.
“The ACS community has had a profound impact on my law school experience,” Deadwiler said. “I look forward to continuing my legal journey utilizing the unique access provided by the ACS NGL program.”
Through a competitive application process, ACS identifies 20 to 30 law students each year who have been active in leadership of ACS’s student chapters in “memorable and significant” ways. Students selected to ACS NGL enjoy a series of programs and opportunities designed to augment their leadership skills and support their professional efforts.
Deadwiler said, “My diverse upbringing – along with my athletic, academic and professional background – has given me the determination to overcome any obstacle, to endure any adversity and to adapt to changing environments.” That upbringing includes playing and coaching basketball at the NCAA Division I level and growing up between Ramstein Air Base (Germany); Woodbridge, Virginia and Phoenix, Arizona. He credits his experience as an athlete and coach, living within different cultures and being a member of a diverse family with helping him develop his passion for the intersection of law and history.
